Best Colleges 2010

Best Grad Schools 2008

Marquette University ranks 84th among the top national universities in the 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges, released by U.S. News & World Report. Marquette was listed among 262 U.S. universities that offer undergraduate majors, as well as master's and doctoral degrees, the premier category of institutions ranked by the publication.

The university once again was named among the "A+ Options for B Students" and one of only 31 universities recognized for service learning under "Programs to Look For.” Additionally, Marquette was one of only 50 universities recognized in the "Great Schools, Great Prices" category, which relates a school’s academic quality, as indicated by its 2010 ranking, to the 2008–09 academic year net cost of attendance for a student who receives the average level of need-based financial aid.

For 2010, the Princeton Review named the College of Business Administration and Graduate School of Management an outstanding business school in the new edition of its book, The Best 301 Business Schools. In other rankings, Kiplinger's placed Marquette No. 44 among the Top 50 private universities in its 2009 list of Best Values in Private Colleges.

Marquette's graduate programs also have received top scores from U.S. News & World Report*:

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS

Washington Monthly coverMarquette ranks 48th in the nation in Washington Monthly magazine’s annual college guide. The magazine rates individual schools based on their tangible contributions to the public interest — the degree to which they recruit and graduate low-income students; produce doctoral students and research; and encourage students to serve in ROTC, the Peace Corps and other service programs.
Princeton ReviewThe Princeton Review named Marquette one of its "Best 371 Colleges" for 2010, placing it among only about 15 percent of the nation’s 2,500 four-year colleges. Selection criteria included academics, admissions selectivity, financial aid, fire safety and green initiatives, and the score was based on institutional data, student surveys and Princeton Review staff visits. The Princeton Review lauded Marquette’s admissions practices, particularly the academic preparedness of incoming students. According to the profile: "Admissions are increasingly selective, and applicants should have solid grades and a respectable course record. Nearly all Marquette students finished in the top half of their graduating class." Students surveyed praised the Jesuit ideals at Marquette, where people are "dedicated to helping others," are "incredibly motivated to do well" and, hopefully one day, will "change the world."
