Les Aspin Center for Government

Through the Les Aspin Center for Government, Marquette University seeks to: prepare young people to serve the public effectively and ethically; provide opportunities to enhance public policy awareness through educational programs; and promote mutual understanding between the United States and other countries through international exchanges. Through coursework and internships, students work closely with members of Congress and their staffs as well as civil servants in various executive branch agencies.

Since 1984, the Aspin Center has educated more than 700 students who have interned in nearly 100 congressional offices, the State Department, the Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Secret Service, the White House, Department of Defense, Federal Communications Commission, Wisconsin Office of Federal-State Relations, as well as offices for Wisconsin-based corporations.
