CJ Egalite
"Pay it forward — I can't see it any
other way," says CJ Egalite, who attended Marquette
on an Igantian Scholarship and was active in service
programs such as Hunger Clean-Up. "Because people are giving to
me in the form of a better education, I give to others.
It's important to be a part of that chain."
Hunger Clean-Up
Hunger Clean-Up is Marquette University's campaign
against hunger and homelessness in Milwaukee. Once
part of the national Hunger Clean-Up campaign, Marquette
students decided to run their own event so the money
they raised would stay in Milwaukee.
Gabrielle Misfeldt
For Gabrielle Misfeldt, her Marquette education was about serving as well as learning. She made a difference by reading to children at Milwaukee's 16th Street Clinic and participating in Marquette's South Africa Service Learning Program.
On a Mission
Dr. Chuck Garven offers a first-person account of bringing medical care to Latin America. He joined with 20 Marquette students to bring health care services to a Honduran community.
Conor Sweeney
Conor Sweeney
spent semester breaks visiting places like South
Africa and China and volunteering his time on trips
to Jamaica, Kenya and Kentucky. "I have often
been told that much is expected of those who are
given much. I have been given an incredible gift
and I intend to show my appreciation through action."
Campus Kitchen
Launched in 2003, the Campus Kitchen Project at
Marquette is an innovative program that brings students,
on-campus dining service professionals and community
organizations together to combat hunger in Milwaukee.
