Service learning is an academic program that gives students the opportunity to perform meaningful community service that is directly related to their courses.
Approximately 900 students from 55 to 65 university courses take advantage of the offer by working at 100 to 125 community agencies each semester — where they can actually practice some of what they're learning.
You'll find service learning courses linked to many majors in the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Communication, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences and Nursing.
"Service Learning represents what has always been central to the mission of Marquette University: a firm belief that each student on this campus should have the opportunity to grow and learn in the context of service to others."
