MARQUETTE'S DIFFERENCE
We tap into local expertise. Learn the latest trends from working professionals in the fields of news, arts, advertising and public relations.
You’ll work with seasoned faculty who have up to 30 years of industry experience. Politics and journalism are a dynamite combo. Explore both in a semester or summer internship with Marquette’s renowned Les Aspin Center for Government in Washington, D.C., where you’ll see how journalists cover the nation’s top news stories.
You’ll follow in some big footsteps. Among our journalism grads, you’ll find Gail Collins, author and New York Times columnist; Pulitzer Prize winner Jacqui Banaszynski, an associate managing editor at The Seattle Times; Steve Rushin, author and former columnist for Sports Illustrated; Joy Bennett Kinnon, a senior editor at Ebony magazine; and other award-winning reporters, writers, editors and publishers.
Analog is so yesterday. That’s why our two color broadcast studios recently got a drastic, digital makeover that has transformed the way our broadcast students are trained. It’s just one of the advantages of a College of Communication that is committed to cutting-edge technology.
There’s never been a better time to join the College of Communication. Thanks to the generosity of late alumnus Bill Diederich and his wife, Mary, the college recently got a $28 million boost, the largest individual donation in Marquette history. The gift is paving the way for more scholarships, professorships, research and major improvements to Johnston Hall, including state-of-the-art audio and video broadcast studios. The college is poised to become a major player on the national scene. |
